Advanced Reports Background

The Advanced Reports tab is used to create large-scale custom extracts of the Salary Assessor database.  Compensation data for multiple user-selected job titles in various geographic areas are displayed in one table.  The user can customize the Compensation Type, Pay Period, and Percentiles in the table.  Salaries for various jobs reported by Years of Experience, Organization Size (Revenue or Assets) and Levels can be analyzed at once in a single table.  

 

Please note: The Advanced Reports table displays only a preview of the entire table with a limited number of records. Export to Excel to see all results.

 

To Select Job Titles

1.To select a job title, double-click on a row in the Jobs table OR click the button to open the Browse Jobs dialog.

2.To select a saved job list (a benchmark list saved in the Benchmark List or Advanced Reports OR a predefined list of All ERI Jobs), highlight a list displayed in the saved list menu.  

3.To upload a list of job titles, see Import Jobs.

 

Note: Advanced Reports allow the user to analyze a benchmark list of ERI Jobs, Jobs by Industry, Hybrid Jobs, and Internal Jobs (see Filters). Enhanced subscriptions that include the My Organizations feature allow users to match their internal job titles to ERI job titles in saved internal job lists. Modifications to Internal Jobs must be made in My Organizations.

 

To Select Areas

1.To select an area, double-click on a row in the Areas table OR click the button to open the Browse Areas dialog.

2.To select a saved area list (a geographic list saved in the Geographic List or Advanced Reports OR a predefined list of All ERI Areas), highlight a list displayed in the saved list menu.  

3.To upload a list of areas, see Import Areas.

 

Note:  If the user selects predefined lists (All ERI Jobs or All ERI Areas), then Advanced Reports will not preview results in the main tables due to the size of the list.  To view results, Export to Excel and select CSV Format.  Predefined lists are only available in enhanced editions of the Salary Assessor.  Please contact ERI for more information.

 

Note: Enhanced editions will include a Data Availability column in the Browse Areas dialog (in either the ERI Areas or Internal Areas tab) displaying the area as either a Primary Geographic Database or Extended Geographic Database location. Advanced Reports can only be populated with locations from either the Primary Geographic Database OR the Extended Geographic Database (a mixture of the two databases is not allowed). There may be limited details available for locations in the Extended Geographic Database; more details may be available for locations in the Primary Geographic Database. For more information about the jobs and areas available in your subscription level, please contact ERI.

Note: When the user loads or imports an area list that includes ZIP codes, then the Geographic List or Advanced Reports table will display a Postal Code column.

Low/Medium/High

The Advanced Reports table now allows for the reporting of salaries by level (for non-executive jobs) or organization size (for director and executive jobs) when a location in the Extended Geographic Database is selected (see Browse Areas). When Levels is selected in Modify Percentiles, then Low/Medium/High columns are displayed.  For non-executive jobs, Low/Medium/High represents Levels 1/2/3. For director and executive jobs, Low/Medium/High represents Small, Medium/Large, Large/Very Large organization size.

Analysis Type

When Levels is selected in Modify Percentiles, then the Analysis Type column is displayed and indicates Levels (for non-executive jobs) OR Size (for director and executive jobs).  This column is only displayed when a location in the Extended Geographic Database is selected (see Browse Areas).

 

To Display Salaries by Level/Size
