Certifications

The Certifications adjustment provides a list of popular certifications, including Premium Certifications (associated with a fixed premium pay % adjustment) and Fundamental Certifications (associated with a 0% adjustment) for the selected job.  Users can add and/or delete Premium Certifications and Fundamental Certifications in the job description, or use the default selection.  Users can select one or more of the Premium Certifications to apply to the compensation calculation as a fixed % adjustment OR add a new certification with a % adjustment that can be customized by the user.  Users can stack up to three certifications per job.

 

There are three certification types available:

Premium Certifications are desired certifications, but not required, that carry a premium. These certifications increase compensation when applied to a given job.  The salary increase percentage is not customizable.

Fundamental Certifications are required to fulfill basic duties of a job. These certifications are associated with a zero percent salary increase when applied to a given job.  

Custom Certifications are not currently associated by ERI with the currently selected job.  Users may add these certifications and apply % adjustments as desired.

 

To Add or Remove Certifications

1.Select a job title.

2.In the Job Report, Benchmark List, OR Geographic List, click the Adjust button in the Adjustments tab of the Survey Description OR the Adjust button below Adjustments in the Organization Data panel in Job Report OR Geographic List to open the Adjustments dialog.  In the Benchmark List OR Advanced Reports, click the Adjust button for the selected job in the Adjustments column of the main table.

3.To add a certification, click Add Certification.

4.Type at least 3 letters of the certification in the Search Certifications field and click Search OR browse the full list of certifications below.

5.Click View Jobs to view a list of ERI job titles associated with the certification.  

6.In the Jobs Within Certification dialog, click to export the list of jobs to Excel.

7.Click OK to return to the Certifications dialog.

8.Click Back to certifications list to view the full list without any search parameters applied.

9.Select a matching certification in the Browse Certifications list and click Add.

10.Repeat steps 3-9 until all certifications have been added.

11.To remove a certification, click the button for a specific certification.

12.To display default certifications, click Reset to Default.  This will delete any customized Certifications from the table and restore default Certifications.

13.Check the box in the Applied column to apply a certification to the selected job.  You may apply up to three certifications per job.

14.Click OK to apply your changes and return to the main table.

 

To Change the Certification % Adjustment

1.Select a job title.

2.In the Job Report, Benchmark List, OR Geographic List, click the Adjust button in the Adjustments tab of the Survey Description OR the Adjust button below Adjustments in the Organization Data panel in Job Report OR Geographic List to open the Adjustments dialog.  In the Benchmark List OR Advanced Reports, click the Adjust button for the selected job in the Adjustments column of the main table.

3.Add or select a Custom Certification. Note: Premium Certifications have a fixed % adjustment that cannot be altered by the user, and Fundamental Certifications are associated with a 0% adjustment.

4.Click on the % in the Cert. Type column and change the value.  The value must be between 0% and 50%.

5.Click OK to apply your changes and return to the main table.

 

To Apply a Certification Premium % Adjustment

1.Select a job title.

2.In the Job Report, Benchmark List, OR Geographic List, click the Adjust button in the Adjustments tab of the Survey Description OR the Adjust button below Adjustments in the Organization Data panel in Job Report OR Geographic List to open the Adjustments dialog.  In the Benchmark List OR Advanced Reports, click the Adjust button for the selected job in the Adjustments column of the main table.

3.Check the check box in the Applied column to select one or more Premium Certifications OR Custom Certifications. You may apply up to three certifications per job. Note: Fundamental Certifications are associated with a 0% adjustment.  

4.Click OK to apply your changes and return to the main table.  In the Job Report OR Geographic List, the Adjustments field in the Organization Data panel will display Applied next to Certifications to indicate that a certification adjustment was made.

 

To Suggest a Certification

1.If you cannot find a desired certification, click Suggest a Certification in the Certifications dialog.

2.Enter the Certification and Certification Description.

3.Click Submit.

4.ERI researchers will analyze the certification and description in order to consider adding it to the Assessor Series database.

Note: Enhanced subscriptions that include the My Organizations feature allow users to match their internal job titles to ERI job titles in saved internal job lists. Internal jobs can be customized with Adjustments for Education, Skills, Certification, and Shift Work.  Modifications to Internal Jobs must be made in My Organizations.
