Direct Oversight

The Direct Oversight adjustment allow the user to apply pay premiums to a job based on the number of direct reports assigned to the role. Depending on the Oversight Type associated with the selected job, there may be no increase in compensation or a salary increase based on ERI's research.

 

To Apply a Direct Oversight Adjustment

1.Select a job title.

2.In the Job Report, Benchmark List, Geographic List, OR Total Compensation, click the Adjust button in the Adjustments tab of the Survey Description OR the Adjust button below Adjustments in the Organization Data panel in Job Report, Geographic List, or Total Compensation to open the Adjustments dialog.  

In the Benchmark List OR Advanced Reports, click the Adjust button for the selected job in the Adjustments column of the main table to open the Adjustments dialog.  

In the Employee List (in Compensation Management), click Adjust in the Edit Employee dialog to open the Adjustments dialog.

In Survey Management, click Adjust in the Required Adjustments field of the Edit Job dialog when adding an Internal Job from Market Pricing OR Individual Job - Market Pricing to open the Adjustments dialog.

3.In the Direct Oversight field, select the number of direct oversights in the Direct Oversights column.

4.Click on the Oversight Type field to view the assigned adjustment (read-only) associated with the number of direct oversights for the selected job:

No Change signals that ERI has not found a change in compensation for the given oversight. These oversights are associated with a zero percent salary increase when applied to a given job.

Premium refers to the number of employees a job title directly manages and carries a premium. This premium for number of direct oversights increases compensation when applied to a given job.

Fundamental refers to the number of employees that a job title manages and is considered required to fulfill basic job duties. These direct oversights are associated with a zero percent salary increase when applied to a given job.

6.To display the default, click Reset to Default. This will remove any direct oversight adjustments added.

7.Check the box in the Applied column to apply the direct oversight adjustment to the selected job.  

8.Click OK to apply your adjustment and return to the main table.  In the Job Report, Geographic List, OR Total Compensation, the Adjustments field in the Organization Data panel will display Applied next to Direct Oversight to indicate that a Direct Oversight adjustment was made.
