The Salary Planning table allows you to analyze and plan salary increases for up to 2,500 jobs at one time.
The Salary Planning table columns are defined as follows:
•Department -- This column displays the department assigned to the specific employee. To add, show/hide, rename, or delete departments, see Departments.
•Employee Name -- Enter the employee's name or a unique identifier for the employee here.
•ERI Job Title -- Select from a list of over 13,000 job titles available in the Salary Assessor. Click the button OR double-click on a cell in the ERI Job Title column to open the Browse Jobs dialog.
•Survey Estimate -- This is the all incumbent mean, median, or a percentage of the Annual Base Salary for the selected job title (see the Job Report tab) based on user input in the Details column (see Survey Estimate Details).
•Details -- To change the value displayed in the Survey Estimate column for a particular employe, double-click on a cell in this column to open the Survey Estimate Details dialog.
•Pay Grade -- This is the salary level assigned to a job through a job evaluation system. To edit pay grades for use in the Salary Planning table, double-click the column header to open the Edit Pay Grades dialog.
•Midpoint -- This is the midpoint of the Pay Grade selected in the previous column.
•Present Salary -- Enter the present base salary for the employee here.
•Compa Ratio -- This is the ratio of an employee's actual salary (the numerator) to the midpoint of the applicable salary range (the denominator). To calculate an individual's compa ratio, divide the Present Salary by the midpoint of the assigned salary range (see Edit Pay Grades).
•Planned Action -- This is the employee's salary increase expressed in nominal figures. See Planned Action.
•Date of Planned Increase -- This is the calendar date of the increase defined under Planned Action or Percent Increase. Unless changed, this field defaults to the Planning Date (see Organization Data).
•New Salary -- This is a calculation of the employee's new salary based on values listed under Present Salary and Planned Action or Percent Increase. See Planned Action.
•Percent Increase -- This is the percent that the employee's salary will increase. It equals the Planned Action divided by the Present Salary, expressed as a percent. See Planned Action.
•Internal Title -- This is the internal title used to identify the employee's job.
•Market Index -- This is an index that is used to calculate an individual or group's market pay by dividing the employee's Present Salary by the Survey Estimate.
•Actual Incentive -- The user inputs the actual incentive for the employee in this column.
•Survey Incentive -- This is the incentive for the selected job title (see the Job Report tab) based on user input in the Details column (see Survey Estimate Details).
•Performance -- This field allows the user make a note on the employee's performance.
•Employee Location -- This is the specific location of the employee.
•Hire Date -- This is the date of hire for the employee.
