Job Insights

Job Insights is a feature of Workforce Insights in Compensation Management that allows subscribers to identify issues with internal compensation at the job level within the organization. Job Insights includes three market comparison tools to identify and fix problems with compensation structures:

 

Compression Check

Peer Analysis

Variance from Market

 

To Check for Compression

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List.

3.Click on Workforce Insights and select Job Insights.

4.Click on the Compression Check tab.

5.Enter a percentage value in the Compression Threshold field.

6.Review the records displayed.

7.To adjust the job's salary, click Adjust in the Adjust Job column for the selected Job Title. In the Employee Salary Adjustments dialog, change a value in the Actual Base Salary column for one or more employees and click OK.

8.To adjust the supervisor's salary, click Adjust in the Adjust Supervisor column for the selected Job Title. In the Supervisor Salary Adjustments dialog, change a value in the Actual Base Salary column for one or more supervisors and click OK.

9.When your adjustments are successful, the job will be removed from the table, and the following message will be displayed: "Adjustment successfully met desired compression threshold."

 

To Check for Variance from Peers

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List.

3.Click on Workforce Insights and select Job Insights.

4.Click on the Peer Analysis tab.

5.Enter a percentage value in the Show if difference is over field.

6.Select either Pay Grade OR Job Family as the Peer Group.

7.Review the records displayed.

8.Click View Details in the Details column to open the Peer Analysis Details dialog and review the details of the variance from peers..

9.Click OK.

 

Note: The Peer Analysis Details dialog displays the average base salary of employees within a job in the selected peer group. Adjustment of these figures requires modification of base salary values for individual employees in the Employee List.

 

To Check for Variance from Market

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List.

3.Click on Workforce Insights and select Job Insights.

4.Click on the Variance from Market tab.

5.Enter a percentage value in the Show if difference is over field.

6.Review the records displayed.

7.To adjust the employee's salary, click Adjust in the Adjust Employees column for the selected Job Title.  

8.In the Employee Salary Adjustments dialog, change a value in the Current Base column for one or more employees and click OK.

9.When your adjustments are successful, the adjusted employee will be removed from the table and the following message will be displayed: "Adjustment successfully met desired variance goal."

10.Click OK.
