Compensation Management Settings allows you to customize your Compensation Management analysis by default area, industry, organization size (Revenue, Assets, Fiscal Year Budget, or # of Employees), and salary planning date. Compensation Management Settings is accessible from any of the sub-tabs in Compensation Management: Dashboard, Pay Grades, Rewards, Employee List, and Downloads & Reports. Compensation Management Settings are linked to your Organization profile (e.g., My Organization) and are only applicable to the Compensation Management pages in the selected Organization profile.
To Create an Organization Profile

To Select the Default Area
1.From any sub-tab of Compensation Management, click Compensation Management Settings in the upper-right corner of the page.
2.In the Compensation Management Settings dialog, use one of these two options:
•Begin typing a search string (i.e., the name of the location you are looking for) in the Default Area field and click on the desired location listed.
•Click Browse under Default Area to open the Browse Areas dialog.
3.Click Apply.
Note: The Default Area will be used to populate an employee’s location if not assigned elsewhere. An employee’s assigned location will continue to drive employee-level calculations.
To Select an Industry
1.From any sub-tab of Compensation Management, click Compensation Management Settings in the upper-right corner of the page.
2.In the Compensation Management Settings dialog, use one of these three options:
•Begin typing a search string (i.e., the name of the industry you are looking for) in the Industry field and click on the desired industry listed.
•Enter a numerical code in the eSIC Code, NAICS, or usSEC field.
•Click the Browse button in the Industry field to open the Industries dialog.
3.Click Apply.
To Change the Organization Size
1.From any sub-tab of Compensation Management, click Compensation Management Settings in the upper-right corner of the page.
2.In the Compensation Management Settings dialog, select the organization size metric in the Analysis Based on field (Revenue, Assets, Fiscal Year Budget, or # of Employees) depending on the industry selected. Organization size for most industries is defined in terms of annual revenue. For some industries, the organization size is defined in terms of Assets, Fiscal Year Budget (FYB), or # of Employees.
3.Enter a value between $1,000,000 and $100,000,000,000 below the Analysis Based on: Revenue field. When initially booted, the Salary Assessor loads a default specification of $100 million in revenue. For Assets, Fiscal Year Budget, or # of Employees, enter a value based on the Organization Size Limits listed below.
4.Check the box to Include Revenue in analysis of lower level jobs to factor organization size into the calculation of salary data for jobs measured by years of experience, if desired.
5.Click Apply.
Organization Size Limits
•Revenue - $1,000,000 to $100,000,000,000
•Assets - $1,000,000 to $100,000,000,000
•Fiscal Year Budget - $2,000,000 to $10,000,000,000
•# of Employees - 10 to 50,000
To Change the Salary Planning Date
1.From any sub-tab of Compensation Management, click Compensation Management Settings in the upper-right corner of the page.
2.In the Compensation Management Settings dialog, click on the date in the Salary Planning Date field and use the calendar to select a date.
3.Click the Default button to set the planning date to the current date.
4.Click Apply.
Note: Industry, Organization Size, and Salary Planning Date settings are not available for locations in ERI's Extended Geographic Database. To customize these settings, please select a location in ERI's Primary Geographic Database.
