Manage Protected Groups

The Manage Protected Groups module, located in the Pay Equity tool in the Employee List in Compensation Management, allows the user to manually add or delete protected groups in categories such as disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, and sexual orientation in the Employee List.  Uploading an Employee List with protected groups defined will automatically populate the groups in the Protected Groups module.  Employees in protected groups can be analyzed for Pay Equity in the Employee List.

 

To Add Protected Groups

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List.

3.Click on Workforce Insights and select Pay Equity.

4.In Pay Equity, click Manage Protected Groups to open the Protected Groups module.

5.Select a Protected Group Category:

Disability

Gender

National Origin

Race

Religion

Sexual Orientation

6.Click Add Protected Group to create a blank row in the table.

7.Type the name of a protected group in the new blank line of the table.

8.Repeat steps 5-7 until all protected groups have been defined.

9.Click OK to return to Pay Equity.

 

Note: In order to prevent age discrimination, custom protected groups cannot be added to the Age Range category.

 

To Delete Protected Groups

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List.

3.Click on Workforce Insights and select Pay Equity.

4.In Pay Equity, click Manage Protected Groups to open the Protected Groups module.

5.Select a Protected Group Category:

Disability

Gender

National Origin

Race

Religion

Sexual Orientation

6.To delete a single protected group, highlight a protected group in the table and click the button.

7.To delete all protected groups, click the button.

8.Click OK to return to Pay Equity.

 

Note: Only custom protected groups added by the user can be deleted. The default protected groups cannot be deleted. Protected groups that have been imported in an Employee List upload cannot be deleted.
