The Departments tool in the Employee List in Compensation Management allows you to define business units for the employees in your organization. This tool allows you to narrow searches and view metrics for these specific employees in Compensation Management. You may manually enter your departments OR download a template to import a file for your departments. Users may also share Organization profiles (including department lists) with other users on the same account. (Note: Shared Organization profiles may be designated as read-only.)
To Manually Add Departments
1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.
2.Choose an Employee List.
3.Click on Employee List Data and select Departments.
4.Click the Add Department button.
5.Enter a name for the department.
6.Click OK to return to the Employee List.
To Import a List of Departments
1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.
2.Choose an Employee List.
3.Click on Employee List Data and select Departments.
4.Click the button to download and save a .CSV file template.
5.Open the .CSV file template using a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.
6.Enter a list of departments. Required columns are marked with an asterisk (*).
7.Once the list is complete, save the file in a .CSV (comma delimited) format.
8.Click the button.
9.Click OK to open the Upload Departments modal.
10.Click the Browse button in the Upload Departments modal to select the saved file.
11.Click the OK button to import the file.
12.In the Upload list from file dialog, the rows that have been successfully imported are displayed. If the .CSV file contains any errors, then a message will display the number of errors encountered during the import and will list the data needing review.
13.Click OK in the Upload list from file dialog.
To Share an Organization Profile

To Rename a Department
1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.
2.Choose an Employee List.
3.Click on Employee List Data and select Departments.
4.Click on a department in the table.
5.Enter a new name for the department.
6.Click OK to return to the Employee List.
To Delete Departments
1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.
2.Choose an Employee List.
3.Click on Employee List Data and select Departments.
4.To delete a single department, highlight a department in the table and click the button.
5.To delete all departments, click the button.
To View Charts by Department
1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.
2.Choose an Employee List.
3.Click on Employee List Data and select Departments.
4.Click the button.
5.Select one of the charts available.
6.Select a Nation, if applicable, from the drop-down list. Values and calculations for this budget will be based on employees that match the selected nation's currency.
7.Click OK.
