Budgets

The Budgets tool in the Employee List in Compensation Management allows you to define your organization’s budgets so that you can ensure adherence of your compensation plan to your Total Compensation, Salary Increase, and Incentive Budgets.  You may manually enter your budgets OR download a template to import a file containing your budgets. Users may also share Organization profiles (including budget lists) with other users on the same account.  (Note: Shared Organization profiles may be designated as read-only.)

 

The Budgets tool also includes charts that allow the user to analyze planned and increase budgets with actual costs and increases.

 

Note: All values in the Budgets tool and charts are annualized.

 

To Manually Add a Budget

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List to relate to this budget.

3.Click on Employee List Data and select Budgets.

4.Select one of these budget options:

Total Compensation Budget

Salary Increase Budget

Incentive Budget

5.Select a Nation from the drop-down list. Values and calculations for this budget will be based on employees that match the selected nation's currency.

6.Enter values for Budgeted Payroll, Budgeted Increase (%), OR Budgeted Insentive (%), depending on the budget selected.

7.Click OK to return to the Employee List.

 

To Import a Budget

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List to relate to this budget.

3.Click on Employee List Data and select Budgets.

4.Click the button to download and save a .CSV file template.

5.Open the .CSV file template using a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.

6.Enter a list of budget data.  Required columns are marked with an asterisk (*).

7.Once the list is complete, save the file in a .CSV (comma delimited) format.

8.Click the button.

9.Click the Browse button in the Upload Budget modal to select the saved file.

10.Select a Nation from the drop-down list. Values and calculations for this budget will be based on employees that match the selected nation's currency.

11.Click the OK button to import the file.  The .CSV upload will populate Total Compensation, Salary Increase, and Incentive Budgets.

12.A message will display the rows that you have successfully imported. In the Upload list from file dialog, the rows that have been successfully imported are displayed.  If the .CSV file contains any errors, then a message will display the number of errors encountered during the import and will list the data needing review.

13.Click OK in the Upload list from file dialog.

 

To Add a Nation to Budgets

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List to relate to this budget.

3.Click on Employee List Data and select Budgets.

4.Click Manage Nation.

5.Click Add Nation.

6.Select a Nation from the drop-down list. Values and calculations for this budget will be based on employees that match the selected nation's currency.

7.Click OK.

 

Note: The list of Nations available to add is based on the locations of employees entered in the Employee List.

 

To Delete a Nation from Budgets

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List to relate to this budget.

3.Click on Employee List Data and select Budgets.

4.Select a Nation from the drop-down list.

5.Click Manage Nation.

6.Click Delete Nation.

7.Click Yes, delete nation to confirm the deletion.

8.Click OK.

To View Charts by Budget

1.Navigate to the Employee List in Compensation Management.

2.Choose an Employee List to relate to this budget.

3.Click on Employee List Data and select Budgets.

4.Select a Nation from the drop-down list. Values and calculations for this budget will be based on employees that match the selected nation's currency.

5.Click the button.

6.Select one of the charts available.

7.Click OK.
