Additional Executive Compensation Assessor Topics (Listed Alphabetically)

The Organization Data panel allows you to customize your analysis by area, type of industry, organization size (revenue, assets, FYB, or # of employees) and/or salary planning date, depending on the main table in use.

To Personalize the Organization

Enter your organization name in the Organization Name field (optional).

To Select a Area

There are three options:

•Begin typing a search string (i.e., the name of the area you are looking for) in the Area field and click on the desired area listed

•Click the Browse button in the Area field to open the Browse Areas dialog

•Click the Averages button to Select, Edit, or Create a User-Defined Average

To Select an Industry

There are three options:

•Begin typing a search string (i.e., the name of the industry you are looking for) in the Industry field and click on the desired industry listed

•Enter a numerical code in the eSIC Code, NAICS, or usSEC field

•Click the Browse button in the Industry field to open the Industries dialog

To Change the Organization Size (Revenue or # of Employees)

1.In the Analysis Based on field, select either Revenue OR # of Employees for any industry. Organization size for most executive jobs and industries is defined in terms of annual Revenue. For some jobs and industries, the organization size is defined in terms of Assets OR Fiscal Year Budget (FYB).

2.For Revenue enter a value (see Organization Size Limits below). When initially booted, the Executive Compensation Assessor loads a default specification of $100 million in revenue.

3.For # of Employees, enter a value (see Organization Size Limits below).

Note: Revenue OR # of Employees can be selected for any industry.

Organization Size Limits

•Revenue - $1,000,000 to $100,000,000,000

•Assets - $1,000,000 to $100,000,000,000

•Fiscal Year Budget (FYB) - $2,000,000 to $10,000,000,000

•# of Employees - variable (see note below)

Note: ERI converts the organization size for Revenue, Assets, or Fiscal Year Budget (in $) to the # of Employees. Each industry type (revenue-based, asset-based, or FYB-based) has its own conversion factor. The Organization Size Limits for # of Employees varies by these industry types:

•Revenue-based industries: 34 - 312,531 employees

•Asset-based industries: 4 - 24,394 employees

•Fiscal Year Budget (FYB) industries: 10-50,000 employees

Note: When saving a Benchmark List, changes to Organization Data (e.g., industry, revenue size, planning date, etc.) will not be automatically saved with the list. To save the Organization Data associated with your saved list, click Save under List Settings. To use Organization Data previously saved in association with your Benchmark List, click Load under List Settings.
