To Select an Industry

1.In Advanced Search, click the Browse button in the Industry field to open the Industries dialog.  

2.You may browse OR search industries by Industry Name, eSIC, NAICS, or usSEC code:

•To browse industries, click on an industry folder name in the Browse Industries field to see sub-listings.  

•To search industries, enter a search string of at least 3 characters, select Industry Name, eSIC, NAICS, or usSEC in the Search By field, and click the Search button.  All industry categories containing the characters entered in the search field are displayed, along with the corresponding eSIC, NAICS, and usSEC code.

3.Click on an industry to select it from the list.  

4.View the industry description displayed for the selected industry. The industry description displayed can be highlighted and copied by the user.

5.Click OK to return to Advanced Search.  The selected industry will be listed in Advanced Search.

 

Sources for the industry descriptions include ERI's internal research, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Urban Institute's National Center for Charitable Statistics (NCCS).
