ERI's Maps tool displays detailed maps of specific locations included ERI's various Assessor Series databases. Cities are displayed as colored dots on the map according to the Assessor Series database selected. Users can select areas from ERI's database or search for any map location worldwide to quickly identify the closest matching city in ERI's database. Users can also use the Maps tool to suggest new cities to add to ERI's databases.
To Select a Database
1.Select one of the five databases in the Database field:
•Cost of Labor
•Cost of Living
•Salary Assessor
•Executive Compensation Assessor
•Global Salary Calculator
2.View colored dots on the map identifying cities included in the selected database.
To Select a Location in a Database
1.Select one of the five databases in the Database field:
•Cost of Labor
•Cost of Living
•Salary Assessor
•Executive Compensation Assessor
•Global Salary Calculator
2.Click on the Browse button below ERI Cities to open the Browse Areas dialog.
3.In the Browse Areas dialog, select one of the available filters: All Areas, User-Defined Averages, United States, Canada, Asia, Europe, South America, Oceania, or Other Locations. Enhanced editions will list filters under Cost of Labor and Cost of Living Areas AND Cost of Living Areas.
4.Begin typing a Search String (i.e., the name of the area you are looking for) OR scroll through the area list and click on the desired area.
5.Click the OK button.
To Find the Closest Matching City in a Database
1.Select one of the five databases in the Database field:
•Cost of Labor
•Cost of Living
•Salary Assessor
•Executive Compensation Assessor
•Global Salary Calculator
2.Type a location in the search field below Locate City.
3.Click Search
4.Once the map is displayed for the selected location, click the — Zoom Out button until a dot indicates a matching or nearby location in the database.
To Suggest a City to Add to a Database
1.Select one of the five databases in the Database field:
•Cost of Labor
•Cost of Living
•Salary Assessor
•Executive Compensation Assessor
•Global Salary Calculator
2.Type a location in the search field below Locate City.
3.Click the Search button.
4.Verify that the map displays the selected location.
5.Click the Suggest City button.
6.A message displaying "Thank you for your suggestion" confirms your submission.
