The Hybrid Industries feature allows the user to define an industry as a weighted set of several industry sectors.
To Create a Hybrid Industry
1.In the Industries dialog, click the Hybrid Industries button to open the Hybrid Industry Details dialog.
2.Click the 
button.
3.In the Create Hybrid Industry dialog, enter a unique name for the new hybrid industry in the blank field.
4.Click 
to select an industry to include in the hybrid industry.
5.Enter a % in the Weighting column for the industry you just selected.
6.Repeat this process for all of the industries included in the hybrid (the rank order of industries is not significant).
7.Check that the Total Weight adds up to 100%. If the total does not equal 100%, then a warning message is displayed.
8.Instead of entering each Weighting % individually, click the Apply Default Weights button to evenly distribute the percentages among the selected industries.
9.When complete, click OK.
10.In the Hybrid Industry Details dialog, click OK to save the updated Hybrid Industry.
11.The new hybrid industry will be selected in the Industries dialog.
Note: A maximum of five industries can be selected to form a hybrid industry.
To Modify a Hybrid Industry
1.In the Industries dialog, click the Hybrid Industries button to open the Hybrid Industry Details dialog.
2.Select a hybrid industry listed under Hybrid Name.
3.Click 
.
4.Click on one of the component industries and change the industry and/or weighting.
5.To delete the component industry from the list of industries forming the hybrid, click the 
button.
6.When complete, click OK to save the updated Hybrid Industry.
To Rename a Hybrid Industry
1.In the Industries dialog, click the Hybrid Industries button to open the Hybrid Industry Details dialog.
2.Select a hybrid industry listed under Hybrid Name.
3.Click 
.
4.Enter a new name for the Hybrid Industry.
5.Click OK to save the updated Hybrid Industry.
To Delete a Hybrid Industry
1.In the Industries dialog, click the Hybrid Industries button to open the Hybrid Industry Details dialog.
2.Select a hybrid industry listed under Hybrid Name.
3.Click the 
button.
4.Click OK to confirm the title to be deleted.
Note: Unless deleted, the new Hybrid Industry name will appear in the Executive Compensation Assessor's industry list after it is defined and can be selected for use in future analyses. The Hybrid Industry may be used like any other industry throughout the Executive Compensation Assessor, except that a hybrid industry cannot be nested inside of another hybrid industry.
