QUESTION: How does the Education level selected affect compensation?
Each job has an average education level assigned, which corresponds to the basic compensation analysis. A modification to the education level may increase or decrease compensation relative to the basic pay rate for the mean education level assigned to the job.
It is important to note that compensation may not continue increasing or decreasing as the education level selected is raised or lowered on the scale; there may be an education level for which compensation increases or decreases stop. For example, a job might see an increase for the attainment of a Master’s degree, but no further increase for a Doctoral degree.
It is also possible that compensation may not change at all with the selection of a different education level. For example, decreasing the education level of a Physician below Doctorate will not modify the compensation rate because a Doctorate is required.
