The Browse Geographic Region menu allows you to:
•Narrow your search for a city if you know the country, state, or county
•Create a User-Defined Average
•Add multiple individual comparison cities to the table on the Comparison List - Labor or Comparison List - COL table
To Access a List of Countries, States and Provinces, Counties, or Cities
Click on the corresponding drop-down menu (above the Available Areas: and Included Cities: lists). Select gradually smaller areas (e.g., nation, then region, etc.), moving from left to right.
To Select a Previously Defined User-Defined Average
Click on -- Select User Defined Average -- next to Saved UDAs. This will display a list of all saved user-defined averages.
To Create a User-Defined Average
1.First select a country under -- Select Country--. The state or regional averages in the selected country will be listed under Available areas.
2.To further refine the area, select a state under Select State or Select Region. A list of cities in the selected region now will be displayed under Available areas.
3.To refine the area even further, select a county under -- Select County -- and view the included areas under Available areas.
4.Add your selected areas to the Included areas list using these tools:
•To move all of the areas listed under Available areas to the Included areas list, use the button.
•To move highlighted areas listed under Available areas to the Included areas list, use the button.
•To remove all of the areas listed under Included areas, use the button.
•To remove highlighted areas listed under Included areas, use the button.
5.Type a unique name for your average in the User Defined Avg Name text box next to Enter UDA Name. Click OK. The new area will be saved under the User-Defined Averages filter.
To Add Multiple Individual Cities to the Comparison List - Labor or Comparison List - COL Table
1.Follow steps 1 - 4 above in To Create a User-Defined Average.
2.Click the OK button to highlight your selected areas in the Select Area screen.
3.When you are finished adding areas in the Select Area screen, click the OK button to display these areas in the Comparison List - Labor or Comparison List - COL table.
Please Note: Some counties may be listed for which there is no survey data. No cities will be available for these counties. If this is the case, from the Browse Geographic Region menu, click the Cancel button, and then from the Select Area dialog box click the Browse button to restart your search.
