QUESTION: Why is data missing for some of my locations in the Cost of Living List?

The Cost of Living List is designed to provide COL differences by annual costs, percentages, or percent differentials using ERI’s benchmark assumptions for rental housing, family size, and automobile data. When a very high-cost location (e.g., New York–Manhattan) is used as the Base Location, many low priced locations have a COL difference of more than 100% below the high cost location using the ERI benchmark assumptions.  If any earnings level (e.g., 34,320, 48,000, 72,000, 108,000, 144,000, or 180,000) is 100% or more below the Base Location, then data may not be displayed.

To obtain data for locations missing data, the user may either:

Go to the Two City Comparison tab and enter the Earnings level for the comparison cities; or

Use the Modify Salary Levels dialog to increase the income levels.
